The Welder’s overall job duties are to properly weld structure or pipe to construct a drilling deck.  The welder must do the following activities in order to complete all job duties.

The Welder will:

• Use welding equipment to weld structures or pipe.
• Use a welding machine, leads, argon, and argon hoses.
• Use pipe jacks to support structures or pipe.
• Use a body harness when working on structure and scaffolds six feet or higher.
• Use flux, flux core wire, and sub arc wire to make welds.

The Welder must:

• Build a scaffold to access all areas on structure, pipe, or deck.
• Pull up leads on deck to weld on deck.
• Transport welding equipment in the yard to work area.
• Drag air hose to work area.
• Wear a body harness when working on structures and scaffolds six feet or higher.
• Wear a hard hat under welding hat.
• Be able to weld structure (beams, grating, stairways) and pipe.
